February 9-11, 2024
REGISTRATION IS OPEN!
REGISTRATION DEADLINE IS WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 31, 2024!
Northside DNOW is an in-town weekend retreat designed to help middle school and high school students connect with God and grow in their relationship with Him. For Northside DNOW, several Northside-area churches, including Journey Church, New Hope Baptist, Sulphur Springs Church, and The Word Community Church, are partnering together to sponsor and host the event. All of our main sessions will be held at Sulphur Springs in the Main Building/Sanctuary. Meals will be provided at the Sulphur Springs Family Life Center. Games on Saturday will be at Camp Tuscoba. Each church will handle small group devotions, along with Friday and Saturday overnight arrangements for teens in their student ministry and their guests.
Ryan John is a uniquely gifted speaker with a passion and gifting for reaching teenagers with the Gospel. His love for students is evident not only in the way he teaches, but also in the way that he engages them away from the stage. Students will be encouraged, challenged, and equipped with each message Ryan shares.
Ryan started traveling part-time and guest speaking at church conferences and youth rallies at age 13. By age 15, he was offered a part time church staff position, and at age 17 he was the pastor of a church. He became licensed and ordained as a minister the day after he turned 18, and over the years has served along side ministers and worship leaders such as Rend Collective, Shane Pruitt, Dr. John MacArthur, Wade Morris, Rush of Fools, Aaron Keyes, Charles Billingsley, and Shawn McDonald. He currently serves on staff at First Baptist Church of Opelika as the contemporary worship pastor.
Ryan has a Masters of Divinity degree and continues to travel and minister through worship and speaking. He loves Jesus, he loves his family, and he loves students, and we are very excited to have him leading our large group sessions for this year’s DNOW!
In addition to being a uniquely gifted speaker and minister, Ryan John is also a talented musician and singer. Years ago while touring as a speaker, Ryan John noticed a lot of churches were interested in bringing in a speaker…and a band. After struggling week after week to find available bands, Ryan prayed that God would give him the voice to sing and the talent to play the guitar in order to more effectively travel and minister. Thus began the stirring in his heart for music ministry.
We are one of the beneficiaries of this prayer, for in addition to speaking, Ryan John and his band will also be leading our worship during our DNOW 2024 weekend!
Your registration includes (1) an interactive student book to use during the weekend, (2) an event T-shirt, and (3) meals for Friday night, Saturday afternoon, and Saturday night.
Payment should be made as directed by the church your student is coming with.
Everyone attending Northside DNOW will need to complete and submit a medical release form for the church you are attending with. Please contact your church’s student ministry leader if you have questions on how to obtain the form.
We have time away cards that you can fill out and return to your student ministry leader. Students can simply leave when they need to go and return when they are done with their activity (parents will be responsible for transportation to and from outside activities and will need to check their child in and out).
